9th Grade U.S. History
United States History: Civil War to the Present
This course will cover the time period from The Civil War up to the present day United States. It will include but will not be limited to the following topics:
· Geography skills
· The Civil War
· Reconstruction of the Union
· The New West
· Rise of Industry
· Urbanization
· The Progressive Era
· U.S. becoming a World Power
· World War I
· Roaring Twenties
· The Great Depression
· World War II
· The Cold War
· Civil Rights Movement
· The United States Today
Grading
Grades will be based on a similar format. The percentages may vary.
60%- Tests and projects
20%- Quizzes
20%- Class Participation/ class work
Behavior
Hopefully this will not be a problem, but just in case, the following rules will be in effect. First offense will result in a warning. Second offense will result in a teacher detention. Further offenses may result in a call home or a referral to the office.
